About Doug Spector

I've always enjoyed playing with words and finding humor in everyday life. Over the years, that passion has led to the creation of four books filled with original puns and illustrated limericks.

Every pun and every limerick in my books was written by me, and no material is ever repeated from one book to another. Whether you enjoy clever puns, unexpected twists, or classic limericks, my hope is that these books bring a smile to your face and brighten your day.

My love of wordplay began years ago with my father, Sam Spector, whose quick wit and clever puns often caught me off guard and made us both laugh. Those moments sparked a lifelong appreciation for the fun and creativity that can come from playing with words.

I also owe my love of poetry to my mother, Emily Spector. She was a gifted writer, poet, and college English professor. I remember watching her recite original poems at weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties, and other special occasions. She had a wonderful way of making people laugh, and seeing the smiles, laughter, and appreciation she received inspired me to create writing that would bring that same kind of enjoyment to others.

In 2012, I discovered an online community of pun enthusiasts who encouraged me to develop my own style of wordplay. Before long, I began sharing my puns with friends and on social media. Their enthusiastic responses inspired me to keep writing—and eventually to publish my first book.

Today, I'm proud to have written three collections of original puns and one collection of original illustrated limericks.
